MathLan Matematika S.A. provides optimization technology for the simulation software industry. We are specialists in developing heuristics and meta-heuristic algorithms. To develop mathematical models and optimization algorithms, MathLan works together with major Spanish Universities in collaboration with other International Universities. The members of our Department of Science belong to the Autonomous University of Madrid and the University of the Basque Country.

In the near future, with the advent of high speed, freight transport and urban passenger trips are expected to grow in line with increases automobile fuel price and population growth. The rail industry is working to satisfy this increase via a concept ''efficient rail'' which will help achieve a significantly higher modal share of freight and passenger traffic.

Rail transport is vital to economic growth and MathLan Matematika has identified two main programs

• Economic Social and Environmental sustainability. The goal is to develop new approaches the line value of rail industry and its sustainability in response of growing freight demand and increased urban passenger patronage linked by the rising fuel prices and the population growth.
